David Tiemstra |
CHICAGO -- Eclipse Select Soccer Club alum and Clarendon Hills, Ill., native David Tiemstra is headed to Major League Soccer's San Jose Earthquakes.
Tiemstra, a graduate of Hinsdale Central and a two-time Big Ten Conference Defensive Player of the Year out of Ohio State, was selected by San Jose during Tuesday's 2012 MLS Supplemental Draft. Tiemstra was the sixth pick in the third round (44th overall) during Tuesday's draft. The 19 MLS clubs picked a total of 75 players who were not selected during the previous week's MLS SuperDraft.

This is quite embarrasing really. Eclipse had absolutely nothing to do the excellent player David Timestra has developed into. David Timemstra played a total of 6 months at U18 for Eclipse. Otherwise his entire youth soccer career was spent at HUSA where he won state and regional titles. Youth soccer wise David Timestra is a HUSA alumi and for Eclipse to try and claim David Timestra is pathetic and a total joke.
ReplyDeleteIt would be smart to check your sources before priniting an article. David should have been asked before printing such misleading informatio. This article implies that David played only with Eclipse as a youth player when in fact it was only a few months. David Tiemstra's hard work, commitment to his development and fine coaching by Marc McElligott while a youth player with HUSA all contributed to David's success.
