MLS ALL-STARS FALL TO EVERTON IN PKS

Chicago Fire trio sees playing time during MLS's first international loss

Chicago Fire defender Wilman Conde and midfielder Cuauhtemoc Blanco each got the start for the Major League Soccer All-Star Team during the squad's loss to Everton FC on Wednesday at Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy, Utah. Everton won on penalty kicks, 4-3, following a 1-all regulation.

Defender Bakary Soumare (pictured right) played the entire second half. Soumare, Blanco and Conde were all on the field at the same time at the start of the second half. Blanco and Conde were replaced in the 63rd minute.

• World Cup qualifying call-ups: Cuauhtemoc Blanco (Mexico) and Gonzalo Segares (Costa Rica) have been called up to serve with their respective national teams in World Cup qualifying on Aug. 12. Blanco and Mexico take on the U.S. Men's National Team at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City (3 p.m. CST, Telemundo), and Segares and Costa Rica battle Honduras in San Pedro Sula at 8:30 p.m. CST.
