Greetings NYC Bees! Here are some updates for you:

Meeting for Three of Four October Matches

The October slate kicks off this Sunday, and we will be getting together for three of the four Brentford matches this upcoming month. The Red Lion will open early for us on Sunday, Oct. 1, for the 9 a.m. ET match against Nottingham Forest. Manchester United (Oct. 7) and Burnley (Oct. 21) are at normal 10 a.m. ET kickoff times. However, we will NOT be meeting for the 7:30 a.m. ET match against Chelsea on Oct. 28 as that kickoff time was bumped up.

Further down the road, the Brentford-Liverpool match for November is now set for 9 a.m. ET on Sunday, Nov. 12 (which we will meet up for at The Red Lion). That was previously scheduled for Nov. 11.

NYC Bees on NBC

We landed some impressive fan representation during our back-to-back September matches on NBC! The NYC Bees and our visiting supporters were shown at halftime of both the Sept. 16 match against Newcastle and the Sept. 23 game against Everton!

For all Brentford matches on NBC or USA Network, you can potentially land on the respective broadcasts by donning your Bees gear and posting on social media with the #MyPLMorning hashtag. The Peacock broadcasts do not have pregame and halftime segments where this imagery is utilized, only NBC and USA.

The NYC Bees also found their way to the Premier League's USA social media on Thursday!

Biggest Red Lion Support

We don't exactly tabulate like we're walking through turnstiles, but it is safe to say that the final two league matches of our September meet-ups combined for the largest two-game turnout of supporters at The Red Lion! So thank you for the continued support week in and week out, we really appreciate it!

The Sept. 23 Brentford-Everton watch party was likely our largest to date, as I estimated more than 40 Bees supporters at the pub. We've had some amazing turnouts, but to be able to encourage The Red Lion staff to swap out multiple Rugby World Cup screens mid-match, in favor of Brentford on back-to-back weekends, that speaks volumes!

Brentford News & Notes

Schade 'Out For Months': Manager Thomas Frank and the club announced that Kevin Schade "will be out for months" as he requires surgery for a groin injury he suffered during warm-ups leading into the Everton match. Defender Ben Mee is also out several weeks for a muscle injury, and Mikkel Damsgaard is dealing with knee issues, which requires him seeing a specialist.

Mbeumo Sitting on 4 Goals: Despite back-to-back matches without a goal, Bryan Mbeumo enters the weekend tied for third in the Premier League with 4 goals this season -- a total that already equals his entire output in 2021-22, and is on pace to easily surpass last season's 9-goal tally.

Brentford Bows Out of Carabao Cup: The Bees fell 1-0 to Arsenal on Wednesday in the third round of the Carabao Cup, conceding an early first-half goal. Considering the mounting injuries and significant absences -- Ivan Toney (suspension), Rico Henry (likely out for season), Kevin Schade, Ben Mee, etc. -- the elimination from this competition might be for the best!

NYC on NBC for 2nd straight week

The New York City Brentford supporters garnered the Premier League spotlight for a second straight week on the stateside NBC broadcast on Sept. 23, featuring Brentford and Everton. The halftime show incorporated multiple Bees supporters who are either among the NYC Bees or have visited The Red Lion in Greenwich Village in Manhattan.

In addition to the broadcast, the NYC Bees watch party made some history with the largest supporters group for the Brentford-Everton match, with an estimate of more than 40 fans heading to the pub on a rainy New York City weekend!

The New York City Bees landed a quick spot on the first NBC broadcast of Brentford FC this season in the U.S. Our famed and growing supporters group was highlighted during halftime of the Sept. 16 broadcast between Brentford and Newcastle.

During the course of the Premier League campaign, fans can try to feature their fandom on the NBC or USA Network broadcasts by using the hashtag #MyPLMorning.

NYC Bees touted on Brentford Carabao Cup broadcast

During the Aug. 29 broadcast of Brentford FC's match against Newport County in the Carabao Cup, the broadcast team of Mark Burridge and Marcus Gayle dedicated much of the pregame toward the growth of American support.

Within that segment, Burridge was keen to mention NYC Bees Co-Founder Charlie Corr, Brentford USA's John Kenkel and Across the Seas but Forever Bees' Tim Searls among the stateside efforts.

Forever Bees Podcast: Waterman's Brentford in America Perspective

Longtime Brentford FC supporter and historian Greville Waterman, co-host of the Across the Seas But Forever Bees podcast, provides his perspective of Brentford in America and his history Stateside.

Waterman also gives some nice recognition to Brentford USA's John Kenkel and NYC Bees' Charlie Corr on the watch party and USA supporters movement.

Beesotted: NYC Bees chat with Billy 'The Bee' Grant from The Red Lion

The West London-based podcast, Beesotted, and co-host Billy "The Bee" Grant, spoke to a bevy of NYC Bees during his visit at The Red Lion for the Aug. 13 Brentford opener against Tottenham.

NYC Bees who were interviewed (in order of conversations) included Charlie Corr, Levar Riley, Adam Harder, Miles Dilworth, Brandi Daniels, Charles Daniel, Sarah Muni and Bruce Muni, followed by some repeat interviews postgame.

Bees United: Bees in the States: Partying Like it's 1889

With each passing day, Brentford is breaking new ground and adding to its rich history, dating back to its inception in 1889. Yet in most of that time, the Bees hadn't created much of an international foothold from a supporters standpoint.

This July was a watershed moment, as the Bees made their first top-division Stateside trip, competing in the six-team Premier League Summer Series -- a three-match preseason tournament in the United States.

This summer provided the first tangible moment for new Brentford fans and longtime supporters to converge as one. The matches and results were secondary -- it was all about the camaraderie, while tasking the flavor of what has drawn us to the club in our unique ways.
