We will be getting together for every game this month, but there is a little hurdle: The late kickoff on March 30 against Manchester United cuts into the Saturday music entertainment window at The Red Lion, and unfortunately the pub is unable to adjust its itinerary. Therefore, we will be doing a one-time field trip to watch that match at The Football Factory at Legends, 6 W. 33rd St., in Midtown Manhattan. I'm sure some of you have set foot in there before; it works as a nice temporary venue to make some noise!

See the graphic for our schedule breakdown.

More on NYC Bees: Instagram | TikTok | Twitter | Media Hub

Breaking Bread with Opposing Supporters
Our February included four NYC Bees appearances on the USA-based podcast circuit. I'm always open to any contributions or suggestions you may have in this space!

Brentford News & Notes
Grasping for reinforcements: With just two victories and 10 defeats over its past 12 league matches, Brentford finds itself only a couple positions about the relegation zone in the club's third Premier League season. The Bees did come up with a crucial 2-0 road victory against Wolves on Feb. 10, but it also came at a price as center back Ethan Pinnock injured his ankle. The early prognosis from the club is that Pinnock could return after the March international break. The timetable for Bryan Mbeumo (also an ankle injury) might be similar to Pinnock, which gives some sliver of hope that reinforcements could be on the way heading into April. But then there are other injuries that have lingered much longer than expected. Outside back Aaron Hickey had a "setback" as he has been sidelined with a hamstring injury since late October, and there's still no timetable on Kevin Schade (groin), who was injured during warm-ups before Brentford's loss to Everton in September. The one small bit of fortune is that the bottom two teams in the league (Burnley, Sheffield United) are likely headed back down to the Championship. It's that third relegation spot that is giving us some panic!

New April date for Brighton: Brentford's match against Brighton has been rescheduled for April 3, with kickoff set for 2:30 p.m. ET. The match was previously scheduled for April 2.

RIP, Stan Bowles: Former Brentford footballer Stan Bowles recently passed away at the age of 75. He had been battling Alzheimer's disease since 2015. Greville Waterman wrote a piece for Bees United to pay homage to Bowles, who capped off his career with the Bees in the early 1980s.

Africa Cup of Nations: Brentford's Frank Onyeka and his Nigeria side finished runner-up in the Africa Cup of Nations. Though they had a 1-0 lead, Nigeria ended up falling 2-1 to Ivory Coast in the final on Feb. 11. Yoane Wissa and DR Congo took fourth in the event, and Wissa was named to the Africa Cup Team of the Tournament.

Quick Hits: If you happen to be in Florida in the coming days, the club is setting up a watch event with its partner Visit Tampa Bay on March 2. Nevertheless, the Bees did bring in a few pieces. The most important in the near future is the addition of left back Sergio Reguilon, on loan from Tottenham. It's quite possible he could see his first start for Brentford when the club faces Manchester City on Monday. Reguilon fills a big void on defense, after injuries to Rico Henry and Aaron Hickey left us depleted at outside back. Midfielder Yunus Emre Konak of the Turkish U-21s is a promising addition for the future, but Turkish reports indicate he suffered a tendon rupture during FA Cup warm-ups and is unavailable for the next 4-5 months. Then there's the addition of goalkeeper Hakon Valdimarsson, a 22-year-old who has appeared five times so far for Iceland's national team. One move that hit some snags was 18-year-old winger Antonio Nusa, who was reportedly set to transfer to Brentford, from Club Brugge. However, the move was put on hold after some knee and back issues arose during his medical.

Wissa, Onyeka continue Africa Cup run: Heading into Friday, both Yoane Wissa (DR Congo) and Frank Onyeka (Nigeria) continued into the quarterfinals of the Africa Cup of Nations. Onyeka's side faces Angola (12 p.m. ET) and Wissa's nation takes on Guinea (3 p.m. ET). Should either of them move on, the tournament's semifinals are set for Wednesday, Feb. 7. Here are a few updates, notes and more:

November Schedule
The NYC Bees are gearing up for three November matches at The Red Lion. We start with a home game against West Ham on Saturday, Nov. 4 (11 a.m. ET), followed by Liverpool on Sunday, Nov. 12 (9 a.m. ET). The Brentford-Arsenal match on Saturday, Nov. 25 (12:30 p.m. ET) will be on our docket, but we also realize that this takes place during Thanksgiving Weekend. Even if folks will be out of town, we'll still try and get a good group together for this; Red Lion's hours remain the same during the holiday stretch.

Our daylight savings time takes place the day after the Brentford-West Ham matchup, so we'll be 4 hours behind the UK for that one and then back to 5 hours behind for the other two matches. Additionally, Brentford announced four schedule updates in December and January.

More on NYC Bees: Instagram | Twitter | Media Hub

Newlywed NYC Bees
Shoutout to Abhi Goyal and Alison Roberts who just got married on Oct. 14! The ceremony took place on a weekend that didn't feature a Brentford match, so clearly they put some thoughtful planning into this! We enjoy having you as part of our NYC Bees fam, and we wish you many happy times and memories! CONGRATULATIONS!

Brentford News & Notes
Historic Feat Against Chelsea: With Brentford coming off a 2-0 victory at Chelsea this past Saturday, the Bees also made some significant history. Brentford is the first Premier League team to win each of its first three matches against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in league play. Since April, Brentford has earned two wins on Chelsea's home ground, versus the Blues' ONE.

Pinnock, Defensive Group Stepping Up: Brentford has garnered back-to-back shutout victories, with center back Ethan Pinnock making his presence felt on both sides of the pitch, including the winning header against Chelsea. It shouldn't come as a surprise that this success has coincided with some returnees. Goalkeeper Mark Flekken has two clean sheets after an appendicitis injury kept him out against Manchester United. Outside back Aaron Hickey returned after missing Burnley due to a yellow card accumulation suspension. Center back Ben Mee (muscle strain) has been an available bench option the past two games. Nothing will fully overcome the season-long absence of Rico Henry, but with the increased defensive depth and important contributions from Nathan Collins and Kristoffer Ajer, things are on an upward trajectory.

Toney Working Back With B Team: Forever Ivan Toney, serving his suspension for betting rules violations, has been back in training with the club since mid-September. Toney is not allowed in first-team match activity until mid-January, but he is getting some valuable minutes through the Brentford B Team. Toney's first match action took place on Oct. 3, when he scored a goal during the B Team's 2-2 draw against Italian club Como. If Brentford is still in Toney's and the club's plans come the new year, the striker could be first available on Jan. 20 against Nottingham Forest.

Thomas Frank: 5 Years and Counting: Mid-October marked the first-year anniversary of the appointment of Thomas Frank as Brentford's manager. Interestingly, among this season's Premier League club managers, only two others have served longer consecutive tenures with their respective clubs: Liverpool's Jurgen Klopp and Manchester City's Pep Guardiola.

New Academy Director: Brentford recently hired Steve Torpey as the club's new Academy Director and will begin this role starting in January. Torpey is the head of coaching at Manchester City, and he introduced a "Barcelona style" coaching system into City's academy. Torpey previously was an academy coach at Liverpool, where he also was a youth player for six years in the late 1990s/early 2000s.
